  13.    We have had some problems with our setup in our modem pool here. 
  14. We are using 8 USR Sportster 28800 Internals on our Pentium server,
  15. running BSD UNIX.  In about 40% of our attempts,  after we dialed
  16. in from elsewhere to our modems using Trumpet Winsock Ver 2e (I have 
  17. tried the upgraded version 2.1f, but it didn't make a difference), I
  18. could hear the handshake between the modems, but before any connection
  19. was made, a "NO CONNECTION" pops out, and the line was disconnected.
  20. (The connection works flawlessly for the rest 60% of our tries though.)

  22.    We have attempted to dial in from a variety of modems, speeds and
  23. machines through Winsock, but the problem still comes up. (And it does
  24. not matter which of the 8 modem that I am dialing in)  Interesting
  25. enough, if we attempted to dial in from other applications, such as
  26. Telix, Windows Terminal, OS/2 and even the dialin with Win95, there
  27. doesn't seem to be any problem at all.
